Description

TX22 ART — Active Reset Trigger

VoidSpec Precision Components

The TX22 ART is an active reset trigger for the Taurus TX22 platform. It replaces the factory part with a precision-cut component that uses the cycling of the slide to mechanically reset the trigger, enabling fast successive shots while still firing one round per trigger pull.

What it does

In a standard semi-automatic pistol, the trigger resets when the shooter releases rearward pressure and allows the internal components to recapture the sear. That reset speed is limited by how fast the shooter can release and re-press. The TX22 ART changes the contact geometry so that the slide’s rearward cycle pushes the trigger forward as it travels — actively resetting it mechanically rather than waiting for the shooter to release.

With pressure maintained on the trigger, the pistol fires the next round as soon as the slide returns to battery. One trigger pull, one round fired — with the reset accelerated to match the slide cycle rather than the shooter’s reaction time.

Build and finish

Machined from stainless steel and PVD coated for surface hardness and corrosion resistance. The PVD coating adds a hard, low-friction layer to the contact faces — the surfaces that ride against the sear and trigger bar — which both reduces wear on those wear-critical edges and keeps the action feeling consistent over thousands of cycles. The combination of stainless steel base material with a PVD-treated working surface is the standard for production fire control parts that have to last.

The mating geometry is held tightly enough that you should not need to tune anything in — the part is sized to work in a stock TX22 fire control group as it comes from Taurus.

Every unit is dimensionally inspected before it leaves the shop. If it goes out the door with our name on it, it’s been measured.

Compatibility

Drop-in compatible with the full TX22 platform:

  • TX22 (standard)
  • TX22C (compact)
  • TX22 Competition
  • TX22 Competition T.O.R.O.
  • 2TX22 and 2TX22C (second-generation models)

All generations, all variants. No platform-specific version needed.

Installation

True drop-in. No frame modification, no permanent alteration to the pistol, and the factory part can be reinstalled at any time to return the pistol to stock configuration. Standard TX22 detail-strip procedure to access the fire control group, swap the part, reassemble. If you’ve detail-stripped a TX22 before, this is the same work.

If you haven’t, watch a complete detail-strip video for the TX22 before you start, or hand it to a gunsmith. The fire control group on the TX22 has small parts under spring tension and is easy to send across the room if you rush it.

Training and operation

An active reset trigger changes the rhythm of the pistol meaningfully. With the part installed, the pistol will continue firing for as long as you maintain rearward trigger pressure and there are rounds in the magazine. Dry-fire the system extensively before live use, and run your first live session at a measured pace until the new reset behavior is muscle memory.

Plan to burn ammo. The whole point of this part is to let you shoot faster than you would otherwise — which means you’ll be running magazines through the gun faster than you’re used to. .22 LR is cheap, but it’s not free.

Legal responsibility

It is the buyer’s responsibility to verify that this component is legal to own, install, and use in their jurisdiction. Active reset and similar rapid-cycling trigger systems have been the subject of ongoing federal and state legal action; the regulatory status has shifted multiple times in recent years and continues to evolve. Several states restrict or prohibit these systems outright.

VoidSpec does not provide legal advice. If there is any doubt about whether this part is appropriate for your jurisdiction or your specific situation, consult a firearms attorney in your state before purchasing.
